Photo idea!
I agree with everyone about getting the photo section of the website sorted, as it seems to have died after the layout changed.
I have another suggestion that that might fly...
Could it be possible to start generating photos by route, i.e Climbers can log in with their photos of the routes as they do them. Over time we would build up a photo database of every route in squamish with photos of every pitch. It would allow eveyone to check the website and view pictures of the route they want to do.
I know there would be 1000 pictures of the split but we could limit it and create an on line picture guide book simply by everyone adding pictures. It could start just for certain routes (squamish only) and expand. People would then post photos that weren't just good photos but ones that would help fellow climbers before they even leave the ground.
Let me know what you think.....is it even possible for you to host and manage such a database?

I don't really see the need for this site to have an edit function. Whenever anybody makes a factual, grammatical or spelling error, Brendan will edit it for them...Brendan wrote:darn steve, looks like your reply needs editingmcgarnickle wrote:Will be able to edit them?
i guess i'll help then... "Will WE be able to edit them?"

no evidence of what. people's true colours?meingh wrote:it's not a power trip, I really hate it when people jump onto a forum, spout off about stuff they have no idea about, pick fights, and say things they regret and then just delete them later so there's no evidence.
anyways. it's not about spraying b/s about things one will regret in the future. it's more along the lines as to how silly it is to double-post every time a mistake is made, for one grammatical error.
having to correct your mistake in your second post, then explain to everyone what you're correcting, is ridiculous.
and besides, if people are concerned w/ getting flamed at, then don't post.
there's got to be some option that allows you to edit your post w/in a certain time period after posting (1-2 mins after submitting the post), and after that period it will be 'frozen' or un-editable.
anyways, whatever you decide i'm sure it's for the best.

Wow, I don't know what forums your hanging out on.I really hate it when people jump onto a forum, spout off about stuff they have no idea about, pick fights, and say things they regret and then just delete them later so there's no evidence.
I'm just having some fun with you, Gary. Ultimately I don't really give a rat's a$% if I can edit on here or not. It would be convenient though. Here's a thought. Just allow editing priveliges (sp?) to people you like or deem qualified. LOL.
