Lions Head Castlegar. (Matt Maddaloni?)
Hello all.
I live in Castlegar and every day I stand on the banks of the Columbia River stare up at the monolith of rock that is the Lions Head. A while ago, Matt Maddaloni and company developed some amazing bouldering on the boulders found at the base of the Lions Head. For a while there was guide available on line but now it's off line and no were to be found. I'm currently in the grips of developing a new line on the main face of the Lions Head and I'm curious to know that if guy like Mat arrived at the base of the Lions Head and bouldered, why not also turn your attention on the 400 foot high face while your at it.
So what I'm asking in a nut shell is, what's the 411 on the climbing on the Lions Head and what ever happened to the bouldering guide?
Thanks.
Aaron Kristiansen. Castlegar. BC.
PS. This is the Lions Head.

I Have managed to unearth a 1970's guide book that details some very uninspiring gully slogs.Cloudraker wrote:Wow, looks like some decent climbing. I'm sure it's been climbed by generations of Kootenay freaks.
Nope! Hard to believe, I know.Aren't there rusty old pins in those corner cracks? Shouldn't be too hard to find beta for stone like that.
WTF?
