I was at cat lake today, despite the bear closure. This area really has some of the best sport climbing in squamish area. The rock is amazing, the routes really fun and the view is for sure the best in the area. The only thing which will prevent it from becoming popular is the lack of parking. Today was no problem because we were alone there, but there is only one parking spot at the trailhead.
Fantastic job Josh and Peter on the area, thanks a million for opening up this remote cliff and all the work that is apparent went into it!!!

Thanx! There's room for about 4 or 5 cars at the trailhead, otherwise you can go down the road a bit.......

The TOPO mentioned potholes after the turn-off .
Can cars safely make it thru these potholes ?
And is the approach 20 minutes as indicated on the TOPO map ?

Potholes are no big deal. I wouldn't drive our ricer out there, but my van makes it up to the trail no problems. The approach is about 20 minutes, yeah. The trail is easy to follow, the guys did alot of work and it shows. Even tho I am pretty sure those stairs aren't quite to code. ;)

So would my '99 civic h/b be able to get up there fine? :)

yes, it would. with a broken tie rod, ripped off muffler and cracked oil pan and maybe a flat tire or two.

SHARKIES: North facing, gets sun around 3pm in summer. Metamorphic rock, long routes.
GOIN’ POSTAL: West Facing, gets sun around 11-12. Granite. Lots of variety, cracks, roofs etc
HOLODUKE: West Facing, sun around 11-12. Granite. Currently in development. :D :D

Slayer and I were there on Sunday... very cool area with excellent climbs Sharkies is amazing!! You can easily get up there in a small car to the first parking lot. I’d take my Honda HB up there...

one word of warning on Swedish Ticket Collectors, around the 5th draw if you fall before clipping the 6th you will hit the ledge below ... i have bruised feet and sore ankles to prove it :lol:
