Massive rockfall on chief

Just saw a massive rockfall on the chief,left of the start of angels crest ,check out the scar.The base of the Zodiac wall is scree !

Here are a few photos. I was moving our basil plant onto the deck right as it happened. I was trying to look at the sky for whatever massive jet was passing by and then looked at the Chief.

From yesterday afternoon. Sunny and normal here.

The rock in that area seems to be characterized by stacked flakes on top of brownish decomposing 'ball bearing' type stone that would provide a good weak layer to allow something to peel. One of those rockfall prone zones that people should generally be aware of. There is always debris on the trail that traverses the base of the North Walls.

The area around Jingus the Cat, beneath Pan Wall is another heads up area.
