New multipitch to the left of Star Check?
New multipitch to the left of Star Check?
I was wondering if anyone knew what the story was with the (new?) bolted line to the left of Star Check? I don't recall seeing it before this year. The line cuts quite distinctively through the moss about 10-20 metres left of Star Chek. It looks like it goes to the top in 2 or 3 pitches? Anyone know what the grade is, whether or not it is all bolts or mixed, and if it is completed and leadable by others yet?

Mike

Re: New multipitch to the left of Star Check?
No idea, but just climbed Star Chek again yesterday. This mystery route "looks" like it is good to go, maybe mixed gear and bolts? There seem to be stations. It would be great if the FA'ist would announce something.
On a different note...there is a new (to me) rap station for Star Chek, other than the old bolts behind the tree. This one is just south of the old bolts and has chains and is situated inline with the top out of the last 5.9 pitch (but not the bolted 10.c? variation). It is a good one to use for the approach if you decide to rappel in. Careful of loose gravel there.
cheers,
Steve
