12 new Bolts left of the pillar
12 new Bolts left of the pillar
Does anyone have any info on the 12 or so new bolts left of the left side of the pillar? There is a mess of static rope fixed to them currently. Lets hope these bolts are removable...

i heard rumour of rigging for some kind of vertical 'dance' troupe. could it be for that?
Re: 12 new Bolts left of the pillar
Yep.
I spoke with Jason Kruk who is working as a rigger for the Aeriosa dance company of Vancouver. He stated that they would be shooting tomorrow and would remove the bolts when they were done. He assured me that they were practicing a "leave no trace" rigging policy.

I see. That certainly adds context to these photos my friend took yesterday.
I've only been here 18 months so what do I know, but I can think of lots of places where some people would get pretty medieval about that sort of thing. Yes I do know who Jason is.

Hmmm... Almost a month later and there are still ropes hanging on the face. Ariosa isn't setting them selves up as good stewards of the chief leaving stuff up there through the busy season.
Admittedly hypocritical of me, as I have fixed ropes up for other reasons for far longer periods of time...

Hi Kris,
I haven't glassed the Grand in a few days but if you're referring to a white static line hanging down the Humpty Dumpty/Ten Years After area of the Grand Wall then we're unaffiliated as that appeared before we did our thing up there. I'm pretty sure, but haven't heard it from the cat himself, that the cord in question is left rigged to facilitate free climbing attempts.
Thanks to all the happy mellow climbers that merged through when we were up there
All trace of our dance/film project on the Grand Wall was completely erased by the morning of August 1st.
Cheers,
Jason, Aeriosa

Re: 12 new Bolts left of the pillar
The white static line isn't mine, although I did jug it to finish soloing Humpty Dumpty. I left it up so a friend could also finish aiding Humpty Dumpty. But due to being busy organizing his own wedding he hasn't found the time to get the rope back. If it's bothering people I'm happy to go get it, and I apologize for allowing it to stay up for so long. Hope this clears things up a bit.
Cheers,
Marc

Thanks for clearing up the mystery, (and vindicating Ariosa) Marc and Jason.

Is that fixed line still hanging off of Humpty Dumpty? Anyone notice recently?
