Hanger Missing on First Bolt of Gertrude in Murrin

...and there's a big chalked X at the start of the route. Anyone know what's going on here? We sent our 200 lb friend up to test the holds on TR, but he couldn't find anything unusually sketchy.

sounds like maybe someone saw the missing hanger and chalked the start to alert others.
i'm a fan of your "200lb toprope" scientific technique to suss out sketch! haha

^^^ Yup, for some reason the first hanger fell off and someone placed it, the nut, and the washer on the small ledge then marked it with a big X

Then someone took the hardware.
