Special Offer at The Hangout in Richmond

Post by The Hangout » Wed Oct 06, 2004 12:39 pm

Come in any time before the end of October, mention this post and you and a friend will get a 2 for 1 daypass ... that's 2 people for $12!

Progress at the gym:

The first new bouldering wall has been complete for about 2 weeks adding almost 400sf of kick-a$% bouldering.

The second new bouldering wall got it's last coating of texture yesterday - we're going to start setting on Thursday. This one is way cool - another 300sf or so with lot's of killer angles.

Both walls are 12' high.

We have over 500 new holds with more on the way - lots of cool problems and routes.

We now sell gear too!

Next Stages:

We're building an extension to our mezzanine level which will include the front desk, a lounge area to hang out and watch climbing vids etc. and a pro- shop.

A cool, natural light bouldering cave in the front of the gym.

These will be complete by mid December.

-----

Come by and check it all out.

Quick question(s).

So there are new bouldering walls. Are there still roped climbing walls? Are they leadable? Are the holds loose like they were at the Rockhouse? Will you charge me a freaking fee for a lead test like BS Cliffhanger?

thanks

Yes - lots of roped climbing - 27 tr's. There are currently about 50 or so routes up ranging from 5.6 - 5.12c - good setting too.

There is no leading right now as I'm getting the lead anchor's re-engineered to make sure they're safe (should be done in the next 2 months).

No, I don't charge for a belay test - show me that you know what you're doing and you're good to go.

And - there are a tonne of new holds up with more coming - so don't worry, you won't have to bring your own holds ;) - oh, and the bolts are long enough too so only the occasional spinner (which happens from time to time).

Come on by - I'm sure you'll like what you see.

Cheers.
