Psyche ledge party

Post by gnarnaphobe » Thu Aug 30, 2012 11:13 pm

Rumours be spreadin like marmalade about the up comming first annual psyche ledge rendezvous.

See for yourself over at supertoprope; http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum ... yche-Ledge

Every one is responsible for finding their own way on and off said ledge. Although I heard Anders is setting up anchors and fixed lines to keep everyone who is anle to find their way up from falling off, so make sure you bring your harness

Having googled a bit, there seems to be different interpretations as to where psyche ledge is. Some think its merely the old road highway 99 that runs along the base. gnarnaphobe's post seems to imply otherwise. McLane's guide describes things with respect to it, but doesn't (I think) get round to actually telling where it is.

Where do you think it is because I could really use a hand here having only lived here for 10 minutes.

Yeah, I'll be wearing a red carnation wandering aimlessly below the GW.

I'm too afraid to go back to Psyche Ledge. It has to be the scariest place on earth. Can someone rope gun me there please?

Psyche Ledge is the old highway that is now an access "trail". It's class 1. There must be a misunderstanding... :?

Right, so if it's just the trail along the bottom (between the chief and Apron car parks?), why are we talking fixed ropes then? Somebody please put me the f**k out of my misery. :?

I always carry a full aid rack of copperheads, pitons, etc. in case I fall off Psyche Ledge and have to nail my way back up. A fixed rope or three would be quite welcome. The anchor there is only a sapling backed up by a row of fixed rurps so an update to that would be nice too.

Luke, make sure you bring your hauling system, just in case Relic can't climb his way up there. Think we'll be able to fit everyone on the ledge? Might have to be more of a meet, greet, and get out of the way so the next person can come up.

See you there it's gonna b fun!

It a party on the most culturally significant footpath in the country!

Don't worry we won't miss you if you dont show.

We'll be sure to tell PB you thng his party is stupid, he's such a hardman it shouldn't bother him too much.( you probably stepped on the bolts on his lieback anyway :P )

I wasn't doubting the quality of the attendees, just trying to imagine the dynamic of a big snake like party. Wouldn't miss it for the world though, PB will prob want to buy me a few once he hears of the innovative style I used to tick his bolt ladder. I mean route.
