July 7th Onwards
July 7th Onwards
I'm in squamish from July 7th onwards and hoping to climb there for around a month or so. This is another stop on a big tour of climbing for me, so just hoping to get alot of the classics done. Unsure as to grade in US category but climb around 24/7a sport onsight (rp around 27/7c) and around 21/E2 trad onsight.
Keen for good banter and just getting some good routes done. I am planning on staying at the Stawamus Chief Campground, or where ever is cheapest and is most likely to have people in the same boat as me!
I have full rack and rope etc..

Wanna do the grand wall on Friday? It is rated 5-12 ish depending on how much you do free. Can be 5-11 I think.

Friday the 13th? Sounds like a plan, had a look at the topo and it looks quality. I'll get in touch via email when I'm in Vancouver, fly in on the 5th July.

Dude I feel so stupid. For some odd reason when I read July 7th I thought of July 4th. I am leaving July 7th. If there is anyway you could make it by July 6th we should do it. My email is erkgillis at gmail.com

Hah, no worries mate. I fly in on the 5th and then get myself sorted in vancouver till the 6th/7th, need to get a ride up to squamish etc. So I don't think I'll be able to get straight on it on the 6th, cheers for the offer though. The route looks quality, it'll be on the list for when I'm there!

Just a heads up that the last three pitches of the Grand Wall ARE closed until the end of July due to falcon nesting.
However, you can still climb it to the top of the Sword, so you still get the highest quality pitches and a ridiculous amount of exposure. Even if you can't climb Perry's, I recommend going this far. Bring an extra rope to rappel.
