local winter mountaineering objectives

Post by joeljacques1 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 9:31 am

Does anyone have any advice on some good local winter mountaineering objectives? I would like to skin up somewhere to the sub alpine, camp, then climb to bag a peak from there with a possible ski descent. I know there are millions of lines falling into this category in the sea to sky, but would like some advice/suggestions on where other pepole have gone (or maybe suggestions of websites where i can read trip reports of bc trips). I lead 5.10 trad and am an expert skier. I have lived in the sea to sky my whole life so know the area well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and i'm looking for a partner if anyones interested.

thanks!

hey joel,

check out bivouac.com or google:

Mt. Harvey North ramp

Mt. brunswick North East coulouir

On the North-shore too...i hiked up to check out the north ramp of Harvey on friday and it didnt look to bad, but looks like it needs more snow/ice to be in decent condition. I ran into a couple of climbers today hiking out of there and they said the warm weather turned it into a water-fall.

Pray for a cold-snap!
