Best Practices for Route Development in Squamish
Best Practices for Route Development in Squamish
Hi,
The Squamish Access Society (SAS), in cooperation with BC Parks, has prepared a Best Practices for route development in the Squamish Parks.
Please go to:
http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/rock_climbing/
to read and provide comment on the document.
This document will be used to manage climbing assets in the three BC Parks in Squamish. It is also very likely that the Distrct of Squamish will adopt this document for managing climbing assets on District Lands.
Beyond Squamish, it is very likely that the Best Practices will be used as a template for other climbing areas within BC Park boudaries.
This is your chance to have an impact - a real impact - on the managment of climbing in the three BC Parks in Squamish.
Please urge others to read and provide comment. You have until Nov 15, 2011. Plans are in the works for a public forum in early November.
Regards,
Charlie
