I'm in for Sunday morning and will bring a buddy to help out (and climb afterwards) .
Time and meeting place?
Cheers,

The belays on Frayed Ends... or on the Barley routes out left of the final corner ought to give the best vantage for the cameraman? And it'd be a crime not to film such an awesome trundle.

Re: Birds of Prey - loose block status
If anyone happens to be unable to make it, I'm available and willing to help for Sunday. Send me a text (778) 996 6082 and I can drive up (and provide a ride if anyone needs it) from Van.
Re: Birds of Prey - loose block status
Wondering if this happened today. If not, I'll be up in Squish at 9:15 tomorrow morning and can head up to BOP, if someone kicked it loose today, I'll be searching for dry rock .
Can be contacted at 778-686-1455, text or call.

Re: Birds of Prey - loose block status
I'm planning on meeting at the trailhead at 7am Sunday morning. Hopefully this will put us ahead of any parties for the day. If you can make it for then we still need one or two two people to commit to being our ground control. This won't happen if we don't have the people to ensure the area is maintained clear.
After the base area is swept, there will be one person positioned in a safe location on the approach trail, and one around the corner servicing the decent/ new Chief trail. They will be in cell and FRS radio contact with the two or possibly three people coming in from above to attempt the exfoliation. One of those people may be filming the Agents of Erosion at work. Safety and positioning will dictate if that is feasible.
Please call me tonight if you will be there to help. 604-815-8637 There won't be any benefit to having too many people there. So let me know if you can help and I'll let you know if we still need anyone. An alternate, and thoroughly thankless job would be sitting at the trailhead, heading off anyone starting up the trail until everything is clear. Otherwise I plan on just signing the trail at a few points near the road.
I welcome any feedback or concerns you may have with our plan.

My ride up from Van won't be there 'til 9ish. Happy to head up to BOP around then if you're short on people. Send me a message at 778-686-1455 in the morning, if I can be of assistance (ie. not enough people). Otherwise, be safe and get that sucker down.

Heard what sounded like a massive rock fall from the Slhaney at my house in Valleycliffe, then remembered what was happening today. Did it all go according to plan?

The trundle was a success. No persons were injured. And the rock can raining down out of the heavens. Yes, video exists. It will be available shortly. Birds of Prey is AOK to climb.

Re: Birds of Prey - loose block status
Jeremy posted a little more about the trundle on the Climbers Access Society of BC website. He notes trundling the block required minimal effort and took with it the tree that was holding it back. As well all the debris on the pitches below was removed and bolts on the climbs below were inspected and replaced if damaged.
Thanks Jeremy and all the volunteers. The Squamish climbing community appreciates the work and time you put in for all of us.
Now let's see that video and pics.
