Chief Gondola

Post by Yoyo » Thu Aug 05, 2004 10:25 am

There is a serious proposal by a company (not Intrawest) to put in a gondola as on Grouse mountain, that would go up from somewhere just south of the Chief and continue up to 2nd or 3rd summit. Various facilities (restaurant etcetera) would I think go in somewhere on second summit, and there would be at least one intermediate tower installed on the Chief itself. It could actually go through, especially if the provincial govt. backs it, but I believe there is fairly significant opposition from a number of quarters at this point.

There is a petition opposing a gondola on the Chief that you can sign at Valhalla Pure.

In the flesh baby !
I'm going straight to valhalla for that petit.
I used to love people............... until lately on the grind .
If you want to grind you're better off doing the chief backside .
Although it's getting to be a bit of a gong show too sometimes.
Hey Gary .
i know exactly how you feel on the grind .
Let's keep that in the North shore .
Including the circus acts Too !

Rather than a gondola, I'd like to see a "quality" campsite get set up. Something away from the highway.

Now, what features make a "Quality" campsite?

I guess running water and functioning bathroom with showers are not priority for you guys.
