Chek road fixed!
After much pestering, the Forest Service has finally graded the Conroy Creek FSR up to Chek. The road is quite dry so is easily susceptable to spinouts and therefore degradation. So PLEASE DO NOT SPINOUT AS YOU CLIMB THE HILL, KEEP YOUR SPEED UP. IF YOU START TO SPIN OUT, STOP, BACK DOWN THE HILL AND TRY AGAIN. We will look for a more permanent solution over the winter.

I was up there today and have to echo the comment on "spinning your tires"...
Don't start up the hill doing 5km/h in your civic hatch with 3 buddies inside...you'll be spinning in no time. Take a good run at the hill and maintain your speed!!! If you start to spin, roll back down the hill and try again. It won't take much for the road to degrade to it's former state, so don't spin out!!
Rant over.... and it was a great day up there....

And please ensure that you don't have someone in front of you before you decide to fire up the hill. Not all vehicles need speed to get up a steep and loose hill.
My Jeep doesn't need to speed up the hill .. I can cruise up slowly and never spin a tire .. so I don't go firing up there. Might as well be safe, right?
So please, be careful.

Originally from Ontario ... learned to climb in Hamilton and on the Escarpment.
Moved East for a while, now I'm back on the Best Coast.
I don't mind if a Civic is in front of me. I can just stop and start again without missing a beat. Hell, I can put my jeep in 1st gear and idle up the hill without touching the gas.
I wouldn't run over a Civic, though .. no point in kicking someone when they're down .. and I figure a Civic owner has got to be WAY down.
