Does rock climbing belong in the Olympics?
How would Canada do?

Climbing definitely belongs in the Olympics (though I think we'll be hard pressed to get it in for the 2020 games). Look at some of the other sports that are in the Olympics: equestrian, archery, table tennis... if those are considered "sports" that belong in the Olympics, then certainly climbing belongs! The physical and mental approach needed are both pretty intense and definitely bring a much more athletic side to the games than ping-pong!!
As for how Canada would do, I can't say because I don't follow the leaders in the sport enough... but the really great climbers I do know seem to be European or American...

exactly! As much as I enjoyed the Olympic curling, shouldn't being an Olympian really mean you can't podium if you're overweight and out of shape? (alright, none of the curlers were huge-o's, at least not that I saw, but they could've been!) Let's get climbing in there before darts makes it in...rainlax wrote:...and definitely bring a much more athletic side to the games than ping-pong!!
