New area: "The Substation" near Chek

Post by tobyfk » Thu Aug 18, 2016 5:45 am

I have been working on this cliff sporadically over the last year or so. I think it is now good to go.

The headline items: a two minute approach from parking by the 99; short and steep; grades from 5.10 - 5.13; fixed draws on the two hardest routes; nice open aspect in a clearcut; did I mention the two minute approach?

Topo here.

Hearing of lots of visitors to this cliff, which is great :D

Yesterday I saw someone had left a chalk comment about the second bolt on Crosstalk. I was with two very experienced route developers. None of us could identify anything wrong with the bolt. If the person who wrote the comment is reading this, could you explain what concerned you?

yeah sorry I meant to post about the bolt, I tightened it as much as I could but noticed there arent many threads sticking out so any movement in the hangar and you can lose the nut and hangar like I did but luckily I just got the 3rd clipped when the 2nd popped off. I would suggest some locktite. great route though thanks.

Added loctite and re-tightened the nut with a wrench today.

If the nut loosens again, please let me know: I will replace the bolt.
