Squamish this summer
Squamish this summer
I'm planning to spend the summer in Squamish and have a few questions maybe someone can help me with. First, is it fairly easy to get around town and to the crags without a car? And as far as camping goes, I've heard the Chief campground is good, is this THE place to be if you're a climber? Also, I may not have a partner for the trip, is it hard to hook up with other climbers? I've spent some time in Yosemite and finding partners there is no big deal. Pretty well any morning you can wander around Camp 4 and find someone to climb with. What's it like in Squamish? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

To really answer your questions, I need to know what kind of climbing you intend to do. If its bouldering, then not having a car won't be an issue. Same goes for anything on the Chief. For sport climbing you will need a car. As for stayin' at the Chief campsite, gettin' into town for whatever will be a bit of a walk.... by hitchin' a ride shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I have not spent more than 2 nights at the campsite.... I can't really say what the scene is like.
But if you're looking for partners, this forum is a good place to start.
