Hi all: I spent 2 hrs yesterday cleaning out this winter's detritus from the cracks for the left hand routes at the Commonwealth.They may still be a little gritty on the inside. I hopefully will get to the right side routes soon. I would like to make a request from all the climbers who like to climb new routes though. The collective efforts of many people taking five to ten minutes with a nut tool and wire brush raking out the needles and other crap from the ledges and inside of your favorite crack route can really prevent the regrowth of vegetation and free up route developers to develop new routes. This especially applies to the lower angle moderates. I would also like to thank Harry, Hevy, and Alan for their retroscrub of Crack rock in the Bluffs this winter. It looks fantastic.
