Smoke Bluffs Park work this summer

Post by squamish climber » Tue Jul 10, 2012 10:46 pm

Some more trail and crag improvements are going to be taking place in the park this summer. The Squamish Access Society posted a note on their website. It notes that the several members of the SAS also serve as members of the Smoke Bluffs Park advisory committee. The coordination has resulted in many of the improvements seen this year such as the new Lumberland Trail and Viewpoint Trail.

The SAS wanted to alert climbers that more work will be carried out in the park this summer. Some of which may require partial trail closures and some work will also occur at crags. Disruption will be minimal. Check the SAS website for details and updates.

Thanks SAS for helping make Smoke Bluffs Park great.

An post on the SAS Facebook page says work on Tunnel Rock has started
Park contractors will be doing remedial work on the Valleycliffe entrance and erosion control at Tunnel Rock base area starting Tuesday, July 24th. If you intend to climb in this zone around this period, it might be a good idea to have a "plan B".
Stay tuned for updates
