I haven't seen a lot of reports of car break-ins latley but the police say there was one last week.
JULY 5, 2012
Squamish RCMP are seeking the public’s help in the theft of a laptop computer, several backpacks containing climbing gear and a passport from a vehicle parked in the Stawamus Chief parking lot this week.

Victims of the incident, reported to police on Monday (July 2), were climbers from California, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride said in a statement. Among the stolen items was a Dell Studio 14 laptop computer.

Those with information about this or any other crime is urged to contact Squamish RCMP at (604) 892-6100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS

Sorry about your loss Cali climbers and hope you get it back. Everyone keep your gear hidden and an eye out for others.
