Cleaning moss? Is it wrong?
Cleaning moss? Is it wrong?
Is it wrong to clean the moss off of a big rock? I have no intentions of bolting anything just would like to clean the moss off, I came across a nice little face inbehind rice lake and would like to climb it but it's covered in moss just wondering what the group has to say before I do something silly. Thanks all. Chris.
Re: Cleaning moss? Is it wrong?
If you are going to clean it off, and nobody else is ever going to climb it, and it is just going to be forgotten, yeah, it is destructive, and wrong. That moss can take decades to grow, and it's part of the forest ecosystem.
There are all kinds of rocks you can climb on on the North Shore that are already cleaned.
But, if it's a cool rock, and people are going to climb on it, and it's going to get used, you have a case for cleaning it.
