MEC 2012 Board Election - Please Vote!
Mountain Equipment Co-op’s 2012 election for its board of directors has begun. All MEC members should get informed, and vote. It only takes a few minutes to participate in your democracy. I am one of the candidates, and encourage you to vote for me. There are thirteen candidates running for election to three positions.
For information on the election, and the candidates generally, see: http://www.mec.ca/AST/ContentPrimary/Ab ... mation.jsp
For information about my experience, qualifications, and positions, see http://www.mec.ca/Apps/election/candida ... 4302890451
How You Can Vote
1. If you received the voter’s package in the mail, follow the instructions on it.
2. If you didn’t receive a package in the mail – most don’t – you can register to vote by getting a PIN at: https://www.mec.ca/Membership/login.jsp?loginSource=14 (you’ll need your MEC membership number) Then go to https://mec-vote.selfservice.anywhere.t ... langue=eng
3. If you have problems, contact MEC Membership Services at election@mec.ca or (604) 876-6221 (greater Vancouver) or (800) 474-7704 (Canada and USA).
Each member has three votes. You can use one, two, or three of the votes – some vote strategically, and support only the candidate or candidates they know, although three must be elected. Please use one of your votes to vote for me. I don’t know any of the other candidates, and so can’t comment on any of them, even if it was allowed – which it isn’t.
You can vote from February 23rd to March 29th. Please encourage your friends, family and others to vote – preferably for me of course!
I welcome your questions and comments about MEC, the election, and my candidacy – use candidate_ourom@mec.ca. I’ll do my best to reply. And if for some reason you choose not to vote for me, let me know why.
MEC’s annual general meeting, where the result of the election will be announced, is on Wednesday April 25th, 2012, in Vancouver. http://www.mec.ca/AST/ContentPrimary/Ab ... eeting.jsp
