1986 Camperized Chevy Climbing Van
We are saying goodbye to our beloved van 'King George'.
5litre/ V8 / 242,000kms
Aircared until April 2012
We've been traveling to some pretty remote places without having a break-down or problem. He is a trusty old man!
He's ready to head off on a road trip tomorrow....
He comes with:
* Second deep cycle battery off which runs the fridge, internal lights, CD player and power convertor - powers phone chargers, ipod etc. (So doesn't run down the starter battery)
* 2 captain swivel chairs in front, 4 seater bench seat with seat-belts in middle, permanent double bed in the back (mattress included).
* Removable double burner propane stove.
* Skylight in back
*Scottish tartan curtains!
*Full length stainless steel roof-rack which we currently have the bikes fitted on.
*He's got an insulated interior so can use him late in the year.
Also included:
*2 basic mountain bikes (1 mens, 1 ladies)
*Toolkit
*Fire Extinguisher
*Pans, Pots, Cutlery,etc
*2 camping chairs
*Spare oil, coolant etc to keep him going.
We have never had any problems with him breaking down etc, but not to say he doesn't have his quirks...... which you do get used to!
The front passenger doesn't unlock from outside (driver has to unlock from inside)
Sliding door is a little stiff.. there is a knack!
Has an oil leak, which he has had since we got him. Managed with oil thickener.
Idle is high when he starts.. have to run for a minute or two and it settles down with no problems.
Great van for climbing road-trips or using as a camper to drive around Canada.
Send me an e-mail if you have any questions or to arrange to come and take a look
We're in Squamish for the next week and can come meet you locally.
