Well, it's pouring outside and since I can't climb outside, this miserable weather's got me wondering:

What's the coolest indoor climbing gym you've ever been to? What made it better than the others? Weird features? Bigger walls?

(Yeah, I know indoor climbing is a distant second to climbing real rock, but seriously, the weather sucks today....)

have to say the best i've been to so far is the Spot in Boulder colorado. Bouldering gym with huge man made "boulders" cool realistic features, high (18 ft top out on some).
Cool people.

i went to a gym in london once that was built in an old castle, in the turrets they had ropes set up for teaching people to rappel and other rope techniques. I was solo so only bouldered and it was cool as they had a bunch of regular (wooden, modular) walls and one huge bouldering wall made of wierd concrete that was black and featured with chunky textures and other shapes that had no modular holds at all, everything was permanent. Would probably get boring if you lived there and that was where you always climbed but it was real steep and had a great variety of problems and holds so for the one day i was there it was real fun.

ps. it's not raining, time to start thinking about the coolest real rock around again (hopefully) for the next few days
