Post by Tyrone Brett » Fri Jun 19, 2009 6:33 pm

The Grand Wall is closed above the Split Pillar pitch. Please see the following link, which we will update once more information is obtained.

Falcons nesting on the flats above Perry's. Last year south gully. Seems to me that the falcons have been on the move since Europa got built.

Wonder if it was worth it?

Hope they get a couple little ones to fledge.

Seemed to take a long time to get the closure signs up this year and Europa was not on the signs or in guidebook as a closed route (guidebook for obvious reasons). I did see people on Europa earlier in spring past March 15 th. Wondering if falcons were disturbed early in nesting season and changed locations. Plus maybe there is more than one pair on Chief. Where do the offspring go to?

Sword clarification

Post by Tyrone Brett » Tue Jun 23, 2009 6:49 am

It seems the Sword pitch is unaffected. So essentially from the top of the Sword to Bellygood is closed until further notice. We are in touch with Parks for any further information.
Thanks,

Does closure of the Grand Wall mean that the usually closed climbs around the Europa/ Freeway/ Millenium Falcon vicinity are now going to be opened? Is not the closure based on the seasonal location of falcon nesting? Just wondering.....
