Via Ferrata on the Chief
I heard recently of an iron route connecting the second summit to the first on the Chief. While descending from the second summit, just after the ladder downclimb, the V-groove, and the short hike up to the summit rim, I looked across at the wall of the first summit and there it was: rebar ladder rungs, bolted and glued into a vertical wall. We followed it up and indeed it led to us to just below the first summit. Raven's Castle slab remained above. We didn't find a sub-5th class route up it and so descended to the base of Raven's Castle and onward down the trail. I believe that the route is the work of Robin Barley. And frankly, I quite like it!
There's a photo of the ladder waaaay down the bottom of the wonderful "Climbing at Squamish in the 1970's" thread at supertaco.com

wasn't going to post the link, but the thread has names and such and such throughout it anyway. Apologies to the author (© Mighty Hiker!) , and more than willing to remove it if he so wishes.
Either way, looks fun, and I suggest you all get your read on at the supertaco thread if you hasn't already!:
