squamish adventure film night - call for films

Post by steve rogers » Tue Dec 19, 2006 11:22 am

Hi guys , just a quick posting to mention an adventure film night I am trying to get started in Squamish.

The night is planned to be a monthly event starting on Saturday the 20th of Jan 07, then running the last Sat in every month from there on in. It will be hosted by the Ocean port Hotel on 2nd Ave.

We are showing films from all sports with an emphasis on short films. We are open to and showing both amatuer and pro content. The aim is to set up an adventure film makers social evening with almost a blogging type theme. Pro's can show short teaser type cuts from full features, amatuers can enter short clips as a way to get there work seen.

For the first one with have already got confirmed content from Banff winners (noboarding 'yes to the no', theory 3 media, grey day - bodisatva films, creatures of habit VIMFF kayak film winner, parkour entries, Paragliding - airhead diaries, Landyatchz, Ted Tempany MTB.

But we are really lacking in good climbing content, which sucks, because Squamish is a climbing town. So it would be great if anyone has anything they want to submitt for them to drop me a mail. I am new to Squamish, so I am not familiar with key players, so excuse my ignorance.

Like I say I would like to show work from absolute pro's to total beginners all are welcome. I am also willing to offer techinal assistance to anyone requiring help.

Great idea Steve, we could use more of that in Squamish. If you have trouble attracting film content maybe you could expand it to slide shows as well?........
