Woodland Boulders, Castlegar

Post by Dooley » Sat Sep 22, 2007 8:09 am

Does anybody know if these boulders are still off limits? My understanding from here
http://www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/for ... st=1597285
is that they are on private property.

I'm the guy who posted on RC.com about the boulders at Lions head. For the record I was developing a line on the wall behind the trailer park and was approached buy a trailer park resident, and was told that climbing on the land "which is private" is forbidden. For the records, about 1/3 of the lions head is on Vacant privately owned land and I intend to to develop several multi pitch sport routes in that area. Stay tuned. As for climbing in what is someones back yard, I wouldn't recommend it. If bouldering is your game there's lots of other areas around Castlegar worth checking out. Check out the MASIVE boulder field above Scotties Marina on Arrow Lakes.

PS. who are you? I'm always interested in meeting new area climbers.
