Andrew Itkonen has got this 9mm 70 that's awesome and the best part is that the grigri locks on it.

i've used a beal booster 9.7 60m for the last couple of years. it's a great rope only i wish i could upgrade to a 70.
60m just doesn't cut it anymore on some of those long single pitches on the chief where u haul a tag only to barely need it...
as for the 9.7, well, it's good for gear climbing. for sport i would prolly go 9.4 or something.

order the a BONE DRY rope (in whatever size - length x width) from espirit ropes

and get the firefly option

they drip the last two feet on the ends and two feet in the middle in a glow-in-the-dark paint

i may order a set of halves from them this summer

Ok prices

in cast you never held of espirit (don't see em much in canada

i've climbed with one of their gear reps afew times in squish.....i've used multiple ropes fresh out of the bag....theyre great...stopped my a$% from decking afew times...

nothing like doing an approach with a brand new 60m rope still in the package in your backpack.....get that 'new rope smell' fresh at the crag/wall.....breath taking i assure you

I've got the Beal Booster 9.7 (duodess) in the 70m version. Used it for one season and love it so far. I've used it with an older grigri and although the "tug test" doesn't work, it will catch falls. :) It's got some dry-type treatment although it's not a dry rope - doesn't pick up a lot of dirt.

I just picked up the 70m Beal Booster 9.7 from MEC. It looks great on my living room floor. You'll have to wait until spring for my review.

Gary, That's a great idea going with the 70m rope. That will still leave you with a 60m rope after you trim it down at the end of your first day. :)

Hi Just curious, where did you buy your ropes from? Was it local? I am thinking of getting a sterling this season, too. Looking forward to your feedback.
