A warning to gym go-ers in the lower mainland

Post by erock » Thu Mar 09, 2006 8:51 pm

Last night (wednesday march 8th) at vertical reality in surrey a heist occured. As you know it is easy to become comfortable at the gym your a member to, and leave your belongings unattended and say, in a cubby, not locked up. I was lucky last night. Multiple people got jacked for wallets full on bags, ect.
I just wanted to send out a warning to other people at other gyms letting them know that it must be well known that climbing gyms in the eyes of some are gold mines. Keep a look out for odd be behavior at your gym.
The suspects are believed to be males of native indian descent.
sorry, i know it's lame to single people out by race, but it's the best i could do. And hopefully it's an insolated event

happy plastic pullin'
Take it easy everyone!

My stuff lives behind the counter, so it is reletivly safe. But in general, don't leave it where you can't see it.

hum...climbers can be too trusting....good judgement is key...hellz, i just got ripped off myself (thread:A$$%$#^@ of squamish)

"i trust you with my life, but not my rack or my wife"
then again, i have lent out my entire rack before to my partner before he started to build his own.....

its easy to rip sh*t off in a gym.....most climbers are stupid about it and sh*t is laying all over the place, bags left open and crap pouring out,

if ya don't need it, leave it in the car or at home....i think most gym parking lots aren't too heaty during the day time.....
Nothing like the sound of thumpin' a piton first thing in the morning...
