Bug Spray and climbing
I have an all natural bug spray that uses distilled water and a combination of four essential oils, and NOT containing DEET. If I spray it on my body and clothing before climbing will these essential oils weaken the fibers of the climbing ropes?

I find that using Bens 30% deet to treat my rope allows it to glide smoothly through my draws as well as giving it a great scent and taste when I am clipping!

Using an all natural bug spray is good, unless the oils used in it does not make the rope slippery. After all they wont be as intense as the ones used in pest control services.

Yea, I'd bring your spray. I've been hit by some gnarly bugs and while my experiences may be a bit rare, it doesn't hurt. You don't want your day ruined. That's just my opinon! mobile car detailing upland

We just went to Kings and it wasn't too bad. We faired well; however, like I tell everyone, bring spray and long-sleeve. If you'd like, we have a few pictures on our detailing website
