Hotel/motel that is cheap?

Post by Blake » Wed Aug 13, 2008 12:09 pm

I have only ever camped before, but i'm coming up to squamish this friday night with my girlfriend for her last visit in a while. We were hoping to be well rested and do a long route on Saturday.

Does anyone know of any hotels/motels in the area that don't charge an arm and a leg? We are dirtbag climbers living it up for one trip, so it doesn't exactly need to be the hilton.

The only thing i've found is the "Sea to Sky" for $120!

THANKS

Hey Blake,
A friend of mine is booked at the Garibaldi Budget Inn in downton Squamish. She got a unit w/kitchenette for $275 per week, so the daily rates can't be too bad. Seemed like a decent place for the budget traveller. Here's a link w/contact info:

How about the Inn on the Water? Have you checked them out?

FWIW, the Inn on the Water is currently engulfed by road construction activity. My last stay there was a nightmare w/the jackhammers, blasters, trucks, and piling drivers going all night and day right outside the door. If you're immune to that sort of noise pollution, though, it's definitely worth checking out. I love the communal kitchen and dining lounge there.

Yes, last time I was there, there was a heavy construction work going on. I donno how concrete contractors can withstand that kind of noise and dust.
