Theft at Area 44 on Sunday
Theft at Area 44 on Sunday
One of my coworkers was climbing with a friend at Area 44 on Sunday. She brought all 12 of her quickdraws, but they only needed to use 10 for the climbs they were doing, so she left 2 draws attached to a sling in her pack, which she left on the ground.
At the end of the day she went back to her pack to find that her 2 draws were gone. There was just the sling left in her pack!
She had stolen from her 2 Petzl Spirit Draws 17cm, the newer ones with the light gray dogbones.
We don't think she'll ever get them back, she has since replaced them, but I think it should be known that there was a thief at Area 44 this past Sunday.
Watch out for your belongings.

Re: Theft at Area 44 on Sunday
Lame. Would like to think that it wasn't a local, as they seem to be quite more respectful than that.
Would go so far as to say whoever took them wasn't even a climber, at least not a real climber.
Real climbers don't take from their own.
