Soloing Uncle Ben's with Merci Me to start

Hey, thanks for asking! The Plan is for Merci Me and the first pitch of Uncle Ben's this Sunday, weather permitting. I may have to work next week so my plans may have to change. I hope not though, I need a big wall fix!

How did the climb go?

Wow, 2 weeks has gone by since Uncle Ben's.

I ended up bailing after taking a pretty good fall on the third pitch. I was clipping a bolt above the big loose flake and the hook I was on blew. I hadn't protected the flake at all because its loose and sharp. there is a bolt at the the base of it as well. I was really just too rattled to continue. I didn't get hurt, but I was mentally done. Oh well, live and learn... Can't wait to get back up there for another go! The pitches I did do were cool and quality climbing. The roof pitch is super fun!

Met up with Gnaraphobe for Merci Me. He gave me a belay. I found it to be pretty easy climbing, and mistakenly skipped the first bolt! I would have no reservations about rope soloing it in the future. I dubbed the 2nd ptich Mossy Me, after the Grand Wall splits off, as I don't think it gets done that much.

Yup that hook pitch is way exciting.

So.. Is there any booty up there?

Yeah there's a draw on the bolt that I was trying to clip when the hook blew, and one on the bolt that I lowered off.

Don't worry I haven't forgotten! You've got a 12er coming your way. I may be up there this weekend.

A 12er! That's generous!

I rescued three stuck ropes up a pain in the arse gully with rocks flying all over me, lugged em a long way, stored them for a month and got nothing on return.

Gnaraphobe was cool enough to help me get off the ground by giving me a belay on MM. That's why he's got some beers coming his way. As for the draws, they're booty.
