Out of towners - Live at Squamish = busy and big crowds
If you love music and rock climbing, Squamish may be the place to go this weekend. Live at Squamish runs August 24-26. Last year there were crowds of around 8-9 thousand on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the events take place at the Logger Sports grounds, so expect access to Smoke Bluffs to be busy. I also read they are turning the Howe Sound School field into a campground and Brennan Park into a glamping site. Other campgrounds are going to be full. You'll have to head up a logging road for free camping.
Anyone here planning on going? Tragically Hip is Headlining on Saturday. They would be cool to see.

Hi Dave,
When walking back to the Apron parking lot from the backside trail, I spotted lots of road-tripper vehicles, judging from license plates: Alberta, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Ontario and Georgia to name a few.
Good to see folks making the effort to sample the fine Squamish stone.
While climbing the buttress (we could hear the live music just fine from there!), we ran into 8 people from Seattle, alone.

ps: And I met your friend Luke.
