Overnight Parking at The Chief?

Post by Big T » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:28 pm

Hey, I'm coming up to do some big wallin on the Chief, and plan to spend a night or two on the wall. Can I leave my car overnight in the Chief parking lot? Is there a better/safer spot?

Thanks!

There's no problem with leaving it overnight there. Break-ins haven't been nearly as prevalent as in years past, but take precautions. Don't leave anything appealing within sight, even coffee change. And don't make it look like you're hiding something really valuable under a blanket in the backseat. Make it look empty.

If you don't have a friend's house to park at for a few days, the parking lot is as safe as anywhere. I'd tend to use the lot right up at the campground or the old one right by the highway. The increased traffic may deter potential window shoppers.

If you're really unlucky, you could join the elite club of folks who have watched their car being broken into from up on the wall. Pretty unlikely though. I've heard that Valhalla Pure sometimes holds stuff like computers for people who don't want to leave it in their car while up on a route.

Have fun!!
