Any word on falcon closures yet?
Hey Dave, just wondering if you have any idea on what routes will be closed for falcon nesting so far this year? Is it still to early to tell? If so, when do you think you'll know?
Re: Any word on falcon closures yet?
No closures slated so far. The monitoring program, which runs until the end of May has yet to determine any nesting sites.

I could be talking out my a$% here, but whats new, I heard down the grapewine (a friend of a friends' girlfriends' step cousin is a birdwatcher) that there might be a new nest at the top of perrys...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Get that bird outta my face before I break its neck"
JK about the neck breaking
No offence bird lovers

We saw some ravens building a nest right beside The Right Stuff on Pet Wall. I assume they'd get pretty nasty if you're climbing around there

Ah, no one cares about ravens anyways. Stupid birds. However, I'm going to be pretty choked if I can't climb higher than the Sword till August or whenever.
Re: Any word on falcon closures yet?
Ravens stupid? the ones with the largest brain when compared to other birds? The same family that makes tools to use? They are smarter than a lot of climbers i"ve met.

Oh I know that they are intelligent type smart, I just meant stupid as in they irk the hell outa me. Story behind that goes a couple years back to planting trees.
Slayer - I didn't mean no one cares about ravens at Pet wall, I just meant in general. Again, they piss me off. Thanks for the heads up.

That would be a GOPro video that would be worth watching.. "Climber grunting and clawing up the route, reaches up to flat ledge where nests is..." BANG! Raven attack!!! (close up of beak and black feathers hitting GoPro cam...)
