Sqaumish Tourism's new site- climbing's profile seems low
Squamish Tourism as redesigned and upgraded their website. It has a more modern feel and is visually appealing. They removed the ridiculous stock image of a climber wearing a bicycle helmet rapelling. However they are still using the totally false claim that the Stawamus Chief is the second largest granite monolith in the world. As Anders Ourom pointed out in a letter to the Chief newspaper recently, it's time to lay that myth to rest.
I think the site does not give climbing the prominence it deserves or has in Squamish. There are no photos of climbing on the main page, it's not profiled on the main page unlike Mountain Biking and Kite Surfing or Alice Lake Park as one of the activities to do in Squamish. It is though included in a bottom table of activities along with golf, and flight seeing and white water rafting.
Anybody have any thoughts?
