Book Suggestions
Does anyone have a good book suggestion for me? Just finished the first volume of the royal robbins autobio and i'm waiting to find the second, I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks!

No Picnic on Mount Kenya by Felice Benuzzi - true story of Italian POW's escaping from a British POW camp to go climbing. Todd
Re: Book Suggestions
Second that. Also, The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz about a POW who escapes from a camp in Siberia and walks to India.

Re: Book Suggestions
Interesting, the first two suggestions seem relatively obscure but I'll have to try and dig those books up.
Another more 'modern' classic is Touching the Void, the story of Joe Simpson's crawl out of a crevasse with a busted up leg and down to base camp. It's a compelling story of human endurance.

I just read Beyond the Mountain by Steve House, I thought it was really good
Re: Book Suggestions
Agree with No Picnic. Also suggest The White Spider by Harrer. About the first ascent of the N face of the Eiger.

Re: Book Suggestions
More classics (along the White Spider line) would include Starlight and Storms by Gaston Rebuffat and the Mountains of my Life by Walter Bonnatti. Beckey's Challenge of the North Cascades is perhaps a local version of these French and Italian classics.
And who doesn't like reading really good guidebooks? Rebuffat's The Mont Blanc Massif is also probably worth tracking down.

Pretty good reading weather eh?
Shock Doctrine, by Naomi Klien is a nice light little piece of fiction.
The Armegeddon Factor is similar (by Marci Macdonald, but many think it was ghost written by Margret Atwood)
A thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini .
The girl with the Dragon Tattoo series will keep anyones attention until Summer.
Anything by Tom Patey, Greg Child or John Long
