Climbing in Oct

Post by matthewb » Sat Jul 31, 2010 5:25 pm

I'm moving to BC from ON in Sept. I am doing my EMR course until Oct 1st and have a month or so free between the course ending and my job beginning. I am planning on moving to the chief prov park for the month and living out of my tent and hopefully get some climbs in.

Whats the weather in squamish like in Oct? is it too wet or cold to climb?

I have only bouldered there before but would like to climb routes this time. Would anyone be interested in showing me around and take me up some routes? I lead climb around 5.8 trad (in ontario) and in the 10's or 11's for sport. I would love to do some of the longer multi pitch but would be happy with one pitch crag days aswell.

Thanks!

Matt

October is very iffy. We can get a lot of rain, sometimes it holds out but don't be holding your breath for that.

Usually the first half of October is good and heavy rain starts in the second half, but that's a good time to go to Skaha
