Camping at the Malamute
Wondering what the community consensus was on the topic. Seems like a potentially delicate issue.
Cheers.
Cheers.
You should read this thread from last year.

I think it's safe to say that the community is almost entirely opposed to Malamute camping.

perhaps a well-constructed no climbing sign on the main access, with a concise description of the access issues at hand? noone likes no camping signs they perceive are there "for no reason", maybe if they have some background info.... and if that doesn't work, then a little note tacked on saying what happened to the guys who camped there last summer.
i will second that notion, they should probably ride horses too.Fre wrote:People with authority to send up there (some random ideas):

camping at the malamute will be forever banished.....
until next july.
step number 2
It seems someone has posted no camping signs up there, so they are being ignored. I stopped by for a chat with the squatters but no one was home (not that would do anything as I'm no authority)
Next time I'm up there if no one is home again, I thought about re-locating some of their climbing gear to the lost-and-found Climb-on, along with a note telling the dirt bags they'll need to explain why they are threatening access to us all to get their gear back.
Other ideas?

Sounds pretty confrontational Alpine. Not that complaining about it on the internet like the rest of us is really helping anything, but I must admit I wouldn't like it if someone replaced my climbing gear. I'm trying to think of something valuable and constructive to say in this post but the only thing that comes to mind is pooping in front of their tent.
