Visiting Squamish

Post by JimR » Sat Oct 24, 2009 1:17 pm

We are a family from the UK and I'm thinking of visiting squamish next year for a family holiday.

1) Is it easy to hook up with people to go climbing?
2) Is there enough in the area to keep my non climbing wife and teenage daughters amused?

In answer to your questions - yes and yes. Vancouver and whistler are only a 40 min in either direction and offer everything you would expect from a major city and world class tourist destination.

Just make sure you come during the summer. Unless you like a lot of rain.

And even then, hope for good luck. This summer was extremely dry by our standards, but last year we had periods of virtually solid rain for 3 weeks at a time in summer. No different from where you're from, really

But yes, they'll have loads to do
