lost cam...

Post by Brendan » Sat Jul 26, 2008 11:13 pm

two climbers lost a Link Cam today on Apron Strings... it looks brand new!

they were rather pissed after rapping down and basically 'paying' $100 to climb the route!
i don't think Apron Strings is worth $100... not even $10 (for a stopper).

anyways, i guess it's up for grabs should anybody feel like spending the time to retrieve it.

or you could do what's 'right' and post it here... only for me to identify it as mine and add to my collection of BOOTY

[quote="Brendanif cams are found IN or ON the climb, it's fair game. if found on the ground at the base or the approach trail, it's only fair to return it (consensus of everybody i spoke to about this).[/quote]

hmmm... i've been trying to decide if these comments agree with or cotradict each other...
and I think I've decided I like your style Brendan

by the way, any reason they couldn't retrieve the cam if they rapped? was it jammed, or was the rap just too off route or something?

hey pin...
thanks, me too :D

the two guys both gave it a go. first of all, the second hung and tried to get it out, to no avail. then they decided to rap (cause they intended on continuing for a few more pitches), and both had no luck getting it out. a shame.

i clipped it as i went by, cause it was bomber, but neither i nor my partner fiddled w/ it.

i'm going back up there tomorrow, so maybe i can have another look at it. i love bOOty.

This thing is fricken IN there! Alas, I had to get to work, and so had only a couple minutes to poke at it, but me thinks it may be joining the one behind it - two bomber fixed cams now, so one less for you to carry on the route! Although, it does still have a teeny, tiny bit of wiggle, but one of the cables is busted already too. Good luck
