Everyone is invited to the Squamish Climbers Festival on September 9th & 10th, a celebration of Squamish and of climbing. This weekend! The event will feature an Adopt-a-Crag, Michael Reardon speaking about his freesoloing feats, a big party, and a fun competition. And, we hope, a lot of climbing and good times. Meet at the Adventure Centre at 8:30 AM for refreshments and organization. Rain or shine! (Bring a mug!)
Projects include rebuilding the Petrifying Wall stairs, work on trails and routes at the "Squaw", and trail work at the Smoke Bluffs. There'll be lots to do, and we need many volunteers. Please bring marked hand tools - clippers, shovels, picks, pry bars, saws, rakes, first aid equipment, gloves, etc. Please also bring rainwear, sturdy footwear, lunch, drinks, etc.

This event is part of the Access Fund's Adopt-a-Crag program, sponsored by Gore-Tex, Clif Bar, and Recreational Equipment Inc.
MICHAEL REARDON PRESENTATION (Saturday)
7:00 - 9:00 PM, Brennan Park Leisure Centre auditorium. (Doors open 6:30.)
Michael will give a lively talk on his climbing adventures, including his 2005 unroped solo of Romantic Warrior (V 5.12b) in California's Needles.
$12/person, $6 for Adopt-a-Crag and other festival volunteers. Lots of door prizes.
ADVENTURE CENTRE PARTY (Saturday)
DJ, amazing raffle, door prizes, beer, and fun!
9:00 PM - 1:00 AM. (Doors open 8:30.)
$10/person (no minors - sorry!). Each person will receive a free raffle ticket; additional raffle tickets for $5 each. Anyone joining the Access Society that night, or renewing, will get a second free raffle ticket. Tons of good raffle and door prizes, thanks to our sponsors.
Meet at the Adventure Centre at 8:30 for registration, waivers, scoresheets, and refreshments. (Bring a mug!)
Competitors will earn points for the hardest boulder problem, classic lead, and sport (bolted) lead within 50 km of Squamish that they climb cleanly during the day. (Must complete a climb in two of the three groups.) Prizes for top three in each category, as well as draw and novelty prizes.
$5/person - recreational, advanced and open categories.
Team category: one climber under 24, one climber over 40, must climb together.
Informal social, thank yous, prizes, and draw prizes 4:30 PM.

Proceeds: As with the 2005 Petzl Roc Trip, half of the net proceeds from the festival will go directly to activities that benefit Squamish, the public, and the climbing community.
Future: We plan to hold the festival annually, and are already planning for 2007.
