NW Ridge Integral - Mt. MacDonald

Post by alpinerockclimbing » Mon Aug 04, 2014 5:07 pm

anyone here climbed MacDonald via the NW Ridge Integral? If so, how steep is the Herdman Couloir approach? Technical snow or just a slog?

The crux is finding the log crossing the creek. I'm not sure what the current beta on where the log is these days. Best to scout it out the day before

As a descent after your climb, expect 45 degree snow in the upper Herdman, possibly hard enough to make rappelling a good idea. Below that the whole Herdman drainage is mostly wide open and simple with a bit of bush just above the creek crossing.
