New wall/New routes @ Chek

Post by bike » Tue Apr 26, 2005 8:49 am

There is a new wall in the making at Chek. (Whiskey Jack)Two routes are now complete.
Angel on my Shoulder 5.10b? 8 bolts to chains 18m
Dichotomy 5.12a 7 bolts to chains 15m

There are several projects on the go at this wall. Will be working on it through the season.
To get to it walk into the trees directly accross from the entrance to the forgotten wall. Follow the red tape. It takes only 5 minutes to get to it. ( I am afraid it is all up hill though) It is a nice secluded area to get away from the crowds.

Hope you enjoy it :D

Well done, again, Marc.

Syg and I both climbed, and enjoyed "Angel on my Shoulder."
I climbed "Dichotomy" as well and it lives up to it's name: reachy and thin for the first 20 feet, juggy and non-reachy for the next 40.
I still enjoyed it, even if it's not destined for mega-classic status.

Thanks again Marc.

Yeah, I was there with dakine. I couldn't link any two moves 'til the easy stuff started. 12a????? I don't know man. Did you grade this one Pete? I thought Weapon of Moss Destruction was super sand bagged. I haven't sent it but maybe by a number grade? So I was wondering if this was the same idea. Anyone confirm or deny these grades?

I may have had something to do with the grade, but I did say it was reachy and I think I may out-reach you guys.
We need to get Mike L. on it.
And even if the bottom 15 to 20 feet is 12c the top 40 is 5.9 at best, so the law of averages should put it somewhere around 11d/12a.

I hope we don't use that mentality for rating everything cuz that will really affect my 8a.nu score. :)

Though I did put it up. Pete has everything to do with the grade!! I would say it is a sandbag. By just watching him on it I would say 12c?
Time will tell when more people get on it.
Glad you like the 10b.

It's not 12c, but it could be 12a/b.
Remember Marc, I climbed it at the end of a pretty hard day.

Angle on My Shoulder ought to be 5.9.
