Fern Hill Update

Post by Peter » Mon Sep 17, 2012 6:02 pm

The final route is done:
The Dungeon Master
12c/d, maybe just d.
Right of Where are they Now
2 boulder problems, the last one is the hardest

Variation Finish to Burning the Coil
Lancing the Boil
13a?
FA-S.Milton
At the fixed nylon draw go straight up and work out the roof
and lip traverse to the anchor of Charlie Don't Surf. Looking for input if you try it (ie if you
think it should have a separate anchor before that anchor). Would need to climb the coil to clean the draws on that route.

We got on "Winston's Folly" today and it seemed solid at 12a the crux is pretty bouldery.
Harder than Yellow beard, face the music, harder than Chromatic suspension (11d) or borrow (11d)... Fun route thanks for putting it up!!

Thanks for the feedback, Dakine. I suspect you are more in tune than I as to what a 12a in Squamish feels like, but I am not so sure it's a 12a. I think Hot Chaud is a solid 12a, and Winston's feels way easier. But, what the hell do I know? I don't ever rock climb anymore.

Still, thanks for the feedback! Glad people are getting on all the news routes!
