'Newish' crag in Smoke Bluffs - Grand Doug

Post by squamish climber » Wed Oct 05, 2011 1:48 pm

Robin Barley's list of route contributions for Squamish continues to grow.

This is a new crag near Call it a Day. Looks like there are some nice easy moderates here. Anybody climb any of them?

And here I thought the Barley staples were proven unsafe and a thing of the past.

Hi All:

Yes: I climbed two of them this past Saturday. Wormwood Crack (5.8, or "letter D" on topo) and the climb to its' right "letter C", taking it's left-hand 5.9 variation. Both climbed well and had good protection and fine anchors (thanks for replacing the original staples!). Lovely shade from the grand Douglas Fir tree and no other people on a busy Saturday! Well worth the hike.

cheers,

ps: has anyone climbed the 5.10a "Bitter Beginnings"? Start looked spicy to me. Any comments?
