Another New Route- Left Side Of Slhanay

Post by Chris155 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 8:00 pm

New routes on the Left side of the Squaw -- start climber right of "Straight Outta Squampton"
1# Arios Vulgaris- 10 c/d
Named after gastropod attempted 1st ascent.. Traces left behind clearly show
it turned back at the 1st roof.
Arios Vulgaris shares the start “Straight Outta Squampton” and cuts
right under the roof and follows the obvious overlaps and corners to the
anchor- , bomber pro, between flares- 4# camalot is useful, not essential.
FA – Jack Fieldhouse and Chris Christie. Rappel Hangers

2# Ariolimax Dolichophallus- 10c/d
The Latin name for a Banana slug who tried to scoop the FA. Curiously the
English translation of Dolichophallus is giant penis. Ariolimax Dolichophallus
climbs the wide crack or using the pillar and joins Arios Vulgaris.
FA Jack Fieldhouse and Chris Christie. Shares anchor with
“Arios Vulgaris”
Double up on .05-1 and 2 camolots for both routes- 4# camalot is useful, not essential. You will sort the rest !

3#- Project- Should be good to go soon !
4#project- Will link a thin seam over to “Straight Out Of Squampton”
5#project- Should be good to go soon !
6#Project- Will start in the fall when the crag is not busy !
